Symphyotrichum cordifolium (Aster cordifolius) / Heart Leaved Aster / Aster cordifolié

Symphyotrichum cordifolium is a great aster for shade or part-sun. Multiple, sweet light blue flowers ready for your fall pollinators! Heart-shaped leaves form nice ground cover in the spring. 60+ cm tall, it prefers medium to medium-dry soil conditions. This marvelous shade-tolerant aster has many names, blue wood aster, heart-shaped aster, broad leaved aster.

Other, more scintillating names include... bee weed, blue devil, West Virginia stickweed!

Outdoors: direct sew in fall. Indoors: cold stratification, lightly over with soil, keep moist. Aster pour l'ombre !  En extérieur : semis direct en automne.

A l'intérieur : stratification à froid, recouvrir légèrement de terre, garder humide.
