Gentiana andrewsii / Andrews Gentian, Bottle Gentian

Bottle gentian, with its angular blue flowers in late summer, is slow to grow but requires little care once the plants are established. Bumblebees are the main pollinators as they are strong enough to open the closed flowers. Bottle gentian prefers sun, tolerates partial shade and adapts to all but the wettest or driest soils.
